ASIANFAST - JETTY REPAIRS

Excessive movements were noticed on the deck of a newly completed jetty during the dredging works. TCL Maritime were appointed to inspect the jetty, review the contractor’s repair/ strengthening proposal and to provide support during the repair works. Following the strengthening of the jetty, TCL Maritime were asked to provide technical advice on the construction of a new sheet piled wall and to carry out the detailed design of the foundations and slab for a proposed new workshop.
REPAIRS TO QUAY 1
Batam, Indonesia – 2015 - 2016
TCL Maritime was commissioned to carry out an inspection and assessment of cracks along the existing Phase 1 capping beam. We found that some of the cracks were due to impact damage from barges but also due to horizontal cold joints during construction. TCL Maritime provided part-time supervision during the repair work and replacement of the steel edge protection plate.
PETRONAS CHEMICALS FERTILIZER KEDAH (PCFK)
JETTY INSPECTION AND ASSESSMENT
Penang, Malaysia – 2012 - 2013
Our staff carried out an inspection and assessment of the PCFK jetty and another jetty owned by Penang Port Sdn Bhd (PPSB). Both jetties are used for the Export of Urea that is manufactured at PCFK in Kedah. Both jetties were found to be in good condition but needed localized minor maintenance. Both jetties were also found to be loaded almost to their original design limit and strengthening would be required if the jetties were to support additional loads.

INSPECTION OF SIX JETTIES
Hong Kong, China – 2011 – 2012
Our staff carried out an inspection of all the piles of various marine facilities at Tsing Yi, to provide a record of the current condition of the piles so that necessary action can be taken to rectify any defects and damages found. We also provided assistance to Shell with the underwater inspection of the piles. The inspection was a follow on from a fender inspection we carried out in 2003 - 2004.

Our staff carried out an inspection of the existing jetty, as part of SRC’s integrated inspection and maintenance programme. The inspection provided a record of the current condition of the jetty so that necessary action can be taken to rectify the defects and damages found. We also provided assistance to SRC with the underwater inspection of the jetty piles.
